Two players who are not part of the German coach's plans are getting closer to changing clubs

Barça continues shaping its outgoing transfer operation in this summer market with the goal of adjusting the squad to Flick's demands and freeing up wage bill space to be able to sign new players. The sporting management, led by Joan Laporta and Deco, is working with an eye on priority arrivals, but they also know there are other very important pending matters. The latter involves finding a place for the players who aren't in the plans of the German coach and his staff.

In this regard, Girona appears as an ideal and key club in this process. After a difficult season in which they came close to the relegation spots, the board of the Catalan club knows they need to strengthen to face a new campaign with guarantees. At Montilivi, they are aware that the squad is small and are considering options in the market, while Barça is willing to offer players so that all parties benefit.

The chosen ones to strengthen Girona

Two names come into play in this equation: Oriol Romeu and Pau Víctor; both players could change jerseys this summer and join Girona, a club they already know well. Romeu, who returned to Barça last season, hasn't convinced and is out of Flick's plans for next season. His departure is a priority and at Girona they view his return favorably, since in his previous spell he was a key pillar in Míchel's system.

Meanwhile, Pau Víctor comes from a season with little involvement at Barça. Even though his contract runs until 2029, he doesn't seem to have an immediate place in the squad. A loan to Girona would allow him to keep growing in an environment that knows him well and where he could get quality minutes.

An operation that fits everyone

Joan Laporta and Deco believe these departures would be beneficial for all parties. Barça would be able to free up some space in the squad and reduce the wage bill, in addition to giving continuity to players who, if they stayed, would hardly have any prominence at Camp Nou. At the same time, Girona could strengthen two key positions with footballers already adapted to Míchel's style and with previous experience in the division.

The excellent institutional relationship between both clubs could facilitate a quick agreement. They keep fluid communication and it's expected that significant progress will be made in the coming days to close the deals. Both Romeu and Pau Víctor view the possibility of continuing their careers at Montilivi favorably, where they'd have more chances to play regularly.
