First Player Dropped by Flick After Barça's Victory Over Girona: 'You're Useless'

The sports management is working to offload Hansi Flick's discards

Despite the fact that everything is still to be played for, Barça is already working on the planning for the 2025-26 season. Deco doesn't want to waste time and is already working on the squad's composition, although there is a big question mark over how much salary cap the team will have this coming summer. Barça's economic situation remains a determining factor when facing the market, which forces the sports management to proceed with caution.

The club is waiting to know the exact amount it can spend on signings. Despite this, Deco already has a list of reinforcements that he considers priorities to strengthen the squad, regardless of economic limitations. Additionally, Barça will also have to offload several players to create salary space and be able to register new signings without problems.

Barça's List for Summer

Among the names Deco has noted on his list of signings, a winger and a right-back are the top priorities. In the first case, the favorite is Luis Díaz, a Liverpool player, who has already been linked several times with the blaugrana team.

On the other hand, for the right-back position, the number one candidate is Andrei Ratiu, a Romanian right-back who plays for Rayo Vallecano. Barça needs to strengthen this position with a reliable player to compete with Koundé. Besides the signings, Deco is also working on the necessary departures to lighten the squad and generate income.

The First Discard

One of the players who is almost certain to leave in the summer is Iñaki Peña. Despite starting the season with the possibility of having more prominence due to Ter Stegen's injury, his situation has changed drastically with the arrival of Wojciech Szczęsny. The Polish goalkeeper, who signed with Barça on a free transfer, has performed at a high level and has left Iñaki in the background.

In this scenario, Barça already knows that Iñaki Peña will leave in the summer. The homegrown player has shown quality on some occasions, but the club considers it the right time to sell him. With Ter Stegen and Szczęsny as a top-level backup, he will have to leave.

Barça Expects to Get About 10 Million

According to "El Nacional," Barça has valued Iñaki Peña at 10M, a reasonable amount for a young goalkeeper with experience at the elite level. In this regard, several teams have shown interest, but the club that is pushing hardest for him is Celta de Vigo.

The Galician team is looking to strengthen its goalkeeping and sees Iñaki Peña as an ideal candidate to be its long-term starting goalkeeper. If the deal is finally completed, Barça would add extra income that would allow it to advance in its planning for signings for the next season.
