Official, De Jong has a new team, Barça gives him an ultimatum: 'either you accept or...'

At Barça, they don't want to waste any more time and have proposed another exit for Frenkie De Jong.

Patience is running thin in the upper echelons of Barça, as they still haven't found a solution to solve Frenkie De Jong's future. The Catalan club has been seeking alternatives for the Dutch midfielder to define his situation for some time now, although he remains unclear about what he wants. Therefore, at FC Barcelona, they are desperately looking for a way to part ways with Frenkie De Jong without delaying the club's other plans.

In this regard, Frenkie De Jong is no longer in Barça's plans for the next season, and everything indicates that his future is far from Barcelona. In fact, his recent performances haven't changed the plans of Deco and Joan Laporta. Both are clear that they must offload the Dutch midfielder since he doesn't meet expectations and, furthermore, doesn't justify his salary.

Definitive Decision

Even though De Jong is still uncertain about his future, at Barça, they prefer to transfer him as soon as possible. In this regard, the club's intention is to try to recover part of the investment they made at the time, when Bartomeu paid 86 million euros for him. Evidently, they know it is practically impossible for any team interested in the Dutch midfielder to pay that amount considering the current landscape.

However, at Barça, they hope to obtain at least some significant income that will help the club make certain signings and, additionally, prevent De Jong from leaving on a free transfer. Now, the Dutchman's situation could become much more complicated than expected, as he no longer holds the same 'crucial' role as before in the culé team. Therefore, resolving his future is a priority for Laporta and company, who are working against the clock to find an escape route.

A Solution Emerges

At Barça, they don't hesitate and are already opening the doors for Frenkie De Jong in the same winter market, according to the latest information circulating in the club. In this regard, teams like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, or Manchester City had shown interest in the midfielder, but they have completely forgotten about him. With no intention of making any offer, and with his future hanging in the air, the situation was complex for the club until a new escape route emerged.

As if it were a solution from the heavens, everything seems to indicate that Borussia Dortmund is interested in Frenkie De Jong. The Germans are experiencing a worrying sports crisis and need to strengthen in the winter market. With this in mind, BVB is considering initiating moves to sign Frenkie immediately, and Laporta will negotiate starting from 40 million euros.
