Hansi Flick's arrival on Barcelona's bench has brought a series of important decisions across all areas of the club. Beyond the first team, the German coach has also intervened in the reserve team's planning, sending a clear message: only those who are ready to compete at the highest level will remain. The rest will have to seek opportunities elsewhere.
The new blaugrana project aims for a more competitive squad, with defined profiles and a clear projection. For this reason, the club has chosen not to renew contracts or extend loans for several young footballers. All of this is a decision based on both sporting criteria and long-term planning.
Operation exit begins
In total, seven young players will not continue under Barça's discipline:Aleix Garrido and Pau Prim were two of the most expected departures at the Catalan club. The former, who made his debut with the first team under Xavi, has already completed his transfer to Eibar. Meanwhile, the latter is leaving for Al-Sadd in Qatar after receiving a financially irresistible offer.
Diego Percan and Juan Piera have also left the club, two forwards with no place in the squad. Percan has announced his move to Arka Gdynia in Poland, while Piera's future has not yet been made official. Neither of them was in Hansi Flick's plans or those of the sporting management led by Deco.
Loans and purchase options
Ánder Astrálaga, usually the third goalkeeper during Ter Stegen's injury, will go on loan to Granada for one season. The club still trusts his potential, and they hope that his time in the First Division will allow him to make a competitive leap. In this case, the idea is not to break the bond, but to bet on progressive growth outside Camp Nou.
At the other end is Abdul Azziz Isah, a winger who arrived on loan: his poor performance has led the club not to extend his loan. Pedro Soma will not continue either, who arrived as a bet for the future but failed to convince the coaching staff. In the latter's case, the purchase option agreed with UE Cornellà will not be executed.
Stepping up in the youth ranks
With these departures, Barça Atlètic is starting a rebuilding phase. The club's intention is to give opportunities to other academy players, reshape the squad, and keep competing for the goal of promotion to Primera RFEF. The coaching staff, now aligned with Flick's vision, wants to form a competitive group consistent with the new playing model.
The decisions made in recent weeks reflect a commitment to demand, merit, and future projection. Some of the players who are leaving will keep growing away from Barça, with the possibility of returning if they show their development. Others, however, are closing their chapter at the club.
