La Masia is on shaky ground: Not everyone is like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí, Flick doesn't want it

The German coach would not put up obstacles to a departure

Since Flick arrived on Barça's bench last summer, La Masia has regained the prominence it has historically had at the club. The German coach has backed the young players developed in the academy from day one, making them the core of the project. The result has been a brilliant season in which Barça has won the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, and La Liga.

The philosophy of trusting young talent has brought identity and freshness back to the team. The academy players have replied with an excellent level and have been decisive in the most important moments of the season. For Flick, the commitment and tactical training of La Masia's footballers have been key to the squad's cohesion and success.

Flick's bet on the youngsters

One of the standout aspects of Flick's work has been his courage to give opportunities to young players from the start of the season. Marc Casado and Marc Bernal have had the opportunity. Both have replied with maturity and have earned their minutes.

In addition, Flick has managed very well the players who were already established, such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí, and Alejandro Balde. Undisputed starters, they represent the present and future of the club, and the coach's trust has been key to their development.

Not all academy players manage to establish themselves

However, not all academy players have had the same prominence. Héctor Fort's case is an example of this. Despite having joined the first team with good feelings, he hasn't managed to secure a real spot in the rotation.

On the right flank, Jules Koundé has been the absolute owner of the position. The competition and lack of minutes have been a difficult barrier for Héctor Fort to overcome. Although he has kept training with the group, his participation in matches has been minimal.

Héctor Fort's future could involve a loan

According to El Nacional, Flick doesn't count on Héctor Fort for next season. In this situation, Barça is considering a loan so the player can accumulate minutes, gain experience at the elite level, and return better prepared.

The club believes that a move would be beneficial for both the footballer and the team. In an environment where he can have continuity, Fort will be able to show his value and develop his game. The sporting management wants to keep the link with the full-back, but understands that right now he needs playing time to keep growing.
