The 2025 Copa del Rey final will be remembered for many years, a highly competitive final with ups and downs and many goals. Barça struck first, but Madrid in the second half was superior and turned the score around, until Courtois's mistake. In extra time, Koundé appeared to give them the first title of the 3 still in play, extending Flick's unbeaten streak in finals.
A Very Dominant Barça
The first half had a Barça very superior to Madrid, who couldn't get out from the back against the culé dominance. The blaugranas created many chances, Raphinha and Lamine tested Courtois a couple of times without success. It wasn't until the 30th minute, Lamine found Pedri free at the edge of the box and the Canary put it in the top corner, making it 1-0.
Madrid took the goal well, and until the end of the first 45 minutes, they managed to shake off that culé dominance. Even so, Flick's team could have gone into the break with a bigger lead, as there was a possible penalty by Ceballos on Cubarsí. With that 1-0, they went to the locker rooms, with the feeling that Barça could have gone with more advantage and a Madrid that couldn't link plays.

Madrid Improves
Ancelotti decided to bring on Mbappé after the break, replacing Rodrygo, the Brazilian participated little and the Italian decided he would be the change. From his entry, the Frenchman improved his team, even more so when Arda Guler and Modric came on, managing to dominate possession. In one of the counterattacks Madrid could make, Mbappé was brought down by De Jong and the referee called a foul, which Kylian was going to 'plug in' to make the equalizer.
A few minutes later, a corner taken by Arda Guler, Tchouameni rose and headed in the 1-2, thus achieving the comeback in the final. But, this Barça of Flick has many lives and after a mistake by Courtois in a bad exit, Ferran made the equalizer at those moments of the end. The match could have not gone to extra time, as De Burgos called a penalty on Asencio over Raphinha, but VAR corrected him.

Kounde, the blaugrana Hero
The match went to extra time, where fatigue appeared and only some bursts from Fermín could tip the balance. Both teams had chances, a few more for Barça taking advantage of their rival's fatigue, but without success. When everything seemed headed for penalties, Kounde anticipated Brahim and from the edge of the box made the definitive 3-2.
Barcelona wins a new cup title, the 32nd in their history, defeating a Madrid that competed and didn't lose sight of the match. Another title for Flick, who increases his unbeaten streak in finals, having won all he has played. Lamine was once again decisive with two assists, while Rudiger ended up being sent off for throwing a bottle at the referee.
