The young Barça midfielder is on the radar of a major Premier League club interested in La Liga

Marc Casadó has become one of the standout names of the preseason at Barcelona. At 21 years old, the midfielder trained at La Masia has taken a firm step toward the first team, showing solid performances every time he has been given minutes. His profile, ability to recover the ball, and reading of the game have been highly valued by the coaching staff, who see him as a real option in the midfield rotation for the Catalan side.

The player is no longer just a prospect: last season he accumulated appearances in demanding matches, responding with composure and maturity. Both the coach and the sporting management value his growth and believe he can become a structural part of the sporting project. His natural integration into the Barça model makes him a strategic asset within the squad.

The market shows interest

This strong performance hasn't gone unnoticed outside Spain. According to sources close to the club, Arsenal have added Marc Casadó to their shortlist as a second option to strengthen the midfield, in case they can't sign Martín Zubimendi. The deal for the Real Sociedad player has become complicated, and the English club are now seriously considering the Catalan academy product as a top alternative.

At Emirates Stadium, they believe Casadó could deliver immediate results and fit naturally into Mikel Arteta's system. They're even willing to submit an offer of up to €50 million, if the Zubimendi route is definitively closed. His youth, potential, and technical-tactical profile make him a high-value signing for the Premier League market.

Dilemma for Barça

The possible offer for Casadó opens an internal debate at Barça. On one hand, it's a very considerable amount for a player who hasn't yet had continuity as a starter. On the other, it represents an opportunity to consolidate a homegrown talent in a key position.

Beyond the financial aspect, Casadó's case represents an opportunity to strengthen Barça's identity. Betting on him means giving continuity to a generation that has emerged strongly from the academy in recent years.  His knowledge of the system and his commitment to the club could be decisive in an increasingly young and dynamic squad.

Hansi Flick has made it clear that he counts on him, although he also understands the club's need to balance income and departures. The situation isn't urgent, but it does require reflection: the midfield is well covered, but losing Casadó could force the club to look for a similar profile in the market. For now, the player remains focused on his preparation for the upcoming season.

The ball is in Barça's court, which will have to decide whether to prioritize immediate profit or bet on internal growth. In any case, Arsenal's interest confirms the growing value of a footballer who has managed to leave his mark both inside and outside Camp Nou.
