These are the benefits Barça would have if it secures 2nd place in the Champions League

With one match remaining against Atalanta, Barcelona depends on itself to stay at the top of the standings.

Barça has regained its smile in Europe. The match against Benfica was the confirmation that the team is capable of facing any challenge that comes its way. With only one defeat and one match remaining, Barça depends on itself to maintain the second position in the standings.

Hansi Flick, Delighted with His Team's Attitude

Barça painted the Portuguese capital in blue and red after an epic comeback. When everything seemed lost, the team led by Flick managed to turn the score around with a stunning goal by Raphinha in the last breath.

The Barça coach was more than satisfied with his team's comeback: "In the second half we were much better. The substitutions helped us a lot. It was really a great comeback, I liked the mentality of my players".

Flick had a significant impact on the match, switching to a three-player defense in the final minutes of the game. This way, his team managed to besiege Benfica's goal. Ferrán Torres, one of the substitutions, was the architect of the assist for the last goal by Raphinha, who continues doing his thing.

"It was a crazy match. Benfica played well, especially in the first half. We made mistakes, and they took advantage of them. In the second half, we changed positioning because we wanted to win":

Much More Than a Comeback against Benfica

Beyond the great match both teams offered us, Barça achieved a crucial victory in its objectives in the top European competition. Remaining in the second position in the standings, just behind Liverpool, would bring considerable benefits.

If Barça wins against Atalanta, it would earn an extra 9.6 million for finishing second. The amount to be received solely from the first eight rounds would increase to about 54 million.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Barça would be in the opposite bracket to the first-place team, so it wouldn't have to face Liverpool until the hypothetical final.
