FC Barcelona's sporting management continues to reorganize their squad with the goal of approaching the summer transfer market with enough margin to sign new players. Before making new additions, the club's offices have set as a priority to move out several players who won't have a role in Hansi Flick's project. Without that clean-up, it will be impossible to face the arrivals that the coaching staff considers necessary to raise the competitive level of the first team.
In this regard, one of the main focuses of this restructuring is the forward line. Despite having established names like Lewandowski, Raphinha, or Lamine Yamal, the feeling is that the squad needs to be renewed in attack, especially with the future of the Polish player in mind.
Flick endorses his departure
In this scenario, Pau Víctor's case has taken center stage in recent hours. Although the German coach values his talent and sees him with potential to grow within the club, he has decided that the best thing for his development is to seek playing time outside Barça. Flick believes Pau Víctor needs continuity and a leading role, something he won't be able to offer him next season due to the high offensive competition in the first team.
The decision has brought with it a large number of proposals: teams like Betis, Girona, Sevilla, Valencia, Celta, and Villarreal have inquired about the young forward's situation. They all see in him an attractive profile, with a goal-scoring instinct and room for growth. That's why Barça is considering two possible options: a loan with guaranteed playing time or, failing that, a transfer with a buy-back option, keeping control over Pau's future.
A talent that doesn't go unnoticed
Pau Víctor made a strong impression last preseason, when he showed boldness, mobility, and effectiveness in front of goal in his first matches with the first team. Flick even gave him some opportunities during the season, especially when the schedule was tight. However, with the starting trio well established and other young players pushing for a place, his presence gradually faded until he was practically relegated to the bench.
Barça doesn't want to cut short his progression. For this reason, they have sped up his departure, convinced that he needs to play in a less pressured environment to show what he's capable of. The idea is for him to gain experience in a La Liga team that guarantees him minutes, which could serve as a "springboard" for a return to Camp Nou in better conditions.
