Official, Betis Goes Fishing Again at Barça: Pellegrini Takes Flick's Favorite

The Real Betis coach is looking for a new striker and believes the solution lies in Hansi Flick's team.

Vitor Roque's adventure in Europe has come to an end after his time with FC Barcelona and Real Betis. The young Brazilian forward joined Barça with the promise of being one of the club's great future prospects. However, he didn't manage to establish himself in the ranks of the Catalans nor did he fully capitalize on his loan to Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis.

In this regard, both Betis and Barça have agreed on Vitor Roque's departure to Palmeiras officially. This operation will bring around 25 million euros plus 5 million in variables to FC Barcelona's coffers. However, the verdiblanco club doesn't want to be disadvantaged or left without a reinforcement for their forward line, so Pellegrini has already set his sights on a Barça prospect.

Real Betis's Bet

According to the latest information circulating around Barça, Manuel Pellegrini has demanded that Real Betis find an ideal replacement for Vitor Roque. The Brazilian forward, although losing prominence in his plans, was part of the tactical scheme of the Chilean coach. In this regard, Pellegrini hasn't wanted to complicate things further and already knows which Barça player fits perfectly into his plans.

That player is none other than Pau Víctor, one of the young prospects in Hansi Flick's squad who doesn't enjoy much prominence. The 23-year-old forward is an interesting option for Betis's attack, especially knowing that he could get minutes with the verdiblanca jersey. Knowing that Pau Víctor isn't part of Flick's plans, Pellegrini sees a clear market opportunity.

A New Offensive

Pellegrini's interest in Pau Víctor isn't new: the Chilean coach already tried to sign him in winter, although Barça didn't allow his departure at that time. Now, with Vitor Roque's exit, Betis wants to take advantage of the moment to include Pau Víctor in any operation. In fact, everything seems to indicate that the verdiblanco team has in mind to secure a loan with a purchase option, similar to what was signed with Vitor Roque at the time.

Pellegrini doesn't want to be disadvantaged by the departure of a player whose future was always in Barça's hands. In this regard, a negotiation for next summer between the Catalan team and Betis seems the simplest. At Barça, they appreciate that Betis allowed Vitor Roque to leave, and Pellegrini hopes that the Catalan club will have a gesture and offer Pau Víctor under favorable conditions.
