Neither Valencia nor Sevilla, nor Betis: Ansu Fati Shocks Barça with His New Team

Barça's '10' Packs His Bags After the Match Against Dortmund: Decision Made

Ansu Fati has said enough. After difficult months, injuries, and an almost nonexistent role in Hansi Flick's plans, the time has come to make a change. The young academy player has already made a firm decision: he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season.

His return to the field against Borussia Dortmund was symbolic. With the match decided and the score at 4-0, Lamine Yamal expressly requested the substitution so his friend could enjoy a few minutes. It was a gesture of affection that moved many, but also the prelude to goodbye.

The fans applauded him standing. That boy who dazzled at just 16 years old stepped onto the field again, although now with the certainty that his future is not at Camp Nou. Ansu wants to play, grow, and shine again, and he knows that will no longer be possible in Barcelona.

Flick Doesn't Count on Him and the Decision Is Made

Hansi Flick has opted for a different profile. The German coach seeks explosive wingers, with physical prowess and greater consistency. In that scheme, Ansu Fati has no space.

Throughout the season, it has become clear. He has barely had minutes, and since January he was practically erased from the map. Not even in decided matches was he seen in the rotation, which made the message from the bench clear.

Even so, Ansu insisted. He rejected exits during the winter market. Teams like Ajax, Porto, Dortmund, or Besiktas knocked on his door, but he chose to stay, believing he could turn the situation around.

Sevilla and Valencia, Out of the Race

There were also calls from LaLiga. Sevilla and Valencia, historic clubs, were interested in his situation. Both saw a great market opportunity in him.

But Ansu remained convinced. His entourage didn't see a move to a club without Europe, and with less stable projects, clearly. He wanted to succeed at Barça, but that has now changed.

Now, with the season in its final stretch, he has accepted reality. He needs to play, gain confidence, and recover his best version. That's why two new clubs have appeared on the scene with strength.

The New Favorites

In recent hours, both Girona and Real Sociedad have shown real interest in signing him. Two ambitious projects, with playing styles that perfectly fit his profile.

Girona wants to grow. Backed by the City Football Group, they seek to make a leap in the squad and see Ansu as a unique opportunity.  The Catalan club has proposed a permanent transfer with performance-based clauses.

Real Sociedad, meanwhile, proposes a loan with a mandatory purchase option. Imanol Alguacil trusts in recovering his level with a stable and pressure-free environment. A serious and European project that also attracts the player.

The Chosen One Is...

According to close sources, Ansu Fati has chosen Girona. The playing style, proximity to Barcelona, and the possibility of competing in Europe have been key. Also, the sports project, which offers him immediate prominence.

Barça has already been informed. Jorge Mendes, his representative, is negotiating the final details. The official announcement is expected in June, before the summer market begins.

At Barça, they accept it naturally. Ansu needs to fly, and the club needs to free up salary mass. It will be an agreed departure, without trauma, and with the hope that one day he can return.

Ansu Fati's story with Barça didn't end as dreamed, but his talent remains intact and his ambition more alive than ever. In Girona, he will find a new beginning. And, perhaps, the most mature version of the '10' that once made Camp Nou dream.
