Gavi Already Knows, He's Leaving Barça in Summer: Guardiola Will Pay a Lot for His Best Friend

The Manchester City coach has shown a lot of interest in an important young prospect from FC Barcelona

The sports management of FC Barcelona still has to scrutinize every detail in sports planning, especially when it comes to protecting its young talents. In a season marked by economic adjustments and the possible arrival of new figures, managing the locker room is not just about signing well. For Deco, it is also a priority to retain the players who are destined to mark an era with the FC Barcelona jersey.

In that sense, a new concern has settled in Camp Nou. Because beyond the usual glances from the Premier League, this time it is one of the giant clubs that has set its sights on a Barça footballer. When Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is interested in someone, it is difficult to look the other way.

Guardiola's New Target

According to the latest information, the Catalan coach is clear about his firm desire: Fermín López. The Andalusian midfielder has caught Guardiola's attention, who sees him as the possible heir to Kevin De Bruyne in his plans. It is not an improvised idea: Fermín was one of the standout names of last season with Barça, he excelled in La Liga, dazzled in the Euro Cup and the Olympic Games.

Despite this meteoric rise, the young Barça talent has not yet managed to establish himself as an undisputed starter under Hansi Flick's orders. Despite his good performances, competition with signings like Dani Olmo has considerably limited his continuity. That has opened the door to doubt: to what extent is it worth staying if he doesn't feel like a protagonist?

Offer Hard to Ignore

Manchester City is willing to make a strong bet on the young Barça talent, even offering more than 55 million euros. Guardiola, convinced of his potential, has already had contacts with the player's entourage. All with the intention of seducing him with a leading role and a competitive project in the short and long term.

Fermín, meanwhile, values the proposal and doesn't close the door to a possible departure. At Barça, they know: losing Fermín would be a blow, not only sportingly but also symbolically. Although his commitment has been total so far, the lack of regularity could push him to make a radical decision.
