180º turn with Pedri's best friend: PSG offers €70M to take him from Barça

The Tenerife native doesn't want to know anything about the possible absence of one of his main supporters in the blaugrana locker room

Juventus of Turin isn't giving up; the Italian club has knocked on Barcelona's door again with a concrete offer of €40 million. The goal is none other than to strengthen its defense with one of the most sought-after footballers on the blaugrana squad. This time, it seems that the Bianconeri are very serious, they have absolutely set their sights on the objective and aren't going to spare any effort.

The chosen one is none other than the Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, the center-back has been on the Italian club's radar for some time; in fact, this isn't the first time they've tried to sign him. In previous transfer windows, they already considered bringing him in, but now they see a real opportunity. The Uruguayan defender needs regular playing time and, with the 2026 World Cup approaching, he is open to a change of scenery if his situation at Barça doesn't improve.

This season, with Hansi Flick's arrival on the FC Barcelona bench, his situation hasn't changed much, although the German coach clearly values his qualities highly. The German is also aware that he has an overcrowded defense: Koundé, Christensen, Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, and even Eric García take up space. Therefore, Araujo doesn't have a guaranteed starting spot and could be the main casualty.

Tudor wants him for Juve

At Juventus of Turin, they are clear that Igor Tudor needs a top-level center-back; his new project wants to grow from defensive solidity. The possible departure of Andrea Cambiaso, who is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, could facilitate the operation.  Not so much because of his position, since Cambiaso is a full-back, but because the income would help finance the signing of the Uruguayan.

In Turin, they value his profile highly; at 25 years old, Araujo combines youth, leadership, and international experience. His playing style fits perfectly in Italy's Serie A. Strong in one-on-one duels, quick to intercept, and with great anticipation skills, he would be the ideal anchor for the Juventus defense. The €40 million offer is on the table, and the Italians expect a response in the coming days.

Not only Juve: other clubs interested in Araujo

Juventus isn't alone in the race; Bayern Munich and PSG are closely following his steps, and they already tried to sign him in January without success. Manchester United has also requested reports and considers him a possible reinforcement for its defensive line, especially if Maguire doesn't stay. The competition could drive up the price, although Barça aren't fully convinced either.

Hansi Flick doesn't want to sell him, but in the offices at Camp Nou, they understand that his sale would allow them to strengthen other key areas. Araujo is one of the players with the most market value, and his departure would ease the pressure of Financial Fair Play. The club needs income, and although it would be painful, letting him go could be a strategic decision.

From the footballer's camp, they aren't closing the door; Ronald Araujo wants to play every match and fears he won't have that role in Barcelona. He also knows that a season without continuity could affect his status with the Uruguayan national team. With the World Cup on the horizon, he can't afford to spend another year on the bench.
