Barça Passes on Isak and Signs Europe's Best Forward: Younger and Cheaper

The blaugrana team has another name on the table that could be much more affordable.

Barça is clear that the center forward position needs reinforcements for the future. Although Robert Lewandowski remains the reference, his age is starting to be a key factor in sports planning. With 36 years old and a contract until 2026, the Pole can still contribute, but the club knows it's time to look for a successor who guarantees long-term performance.

Deco is working to find the ideal profile.  The priority is to sign a young forward with the ability to make a difference in the area but who also adapts to the blaugrana play style. The idea is to find a scorer who can share minutes with Lewandowski in an initial stage and then take over as the starting '9' in the future.

Alexander Isak is Laporta's dream

Among all the options the club is considering, the name most liked by the board is Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old Swedish forward has proven to be an elite scorer in the Premier League and fits perfectly with Barça's philosophy. His mobility, technique, and ability to connect with teammates make him an ideal candidate to occupy the blaugrana forward line in the coming years.

Although there are other alternatives like Gyökeres, who is shining at Sporting de Portugal, Isak is the one who generates the most consensus in the sports management. Deco and his team believe that his style would fit better with Barça's play and that his experience in major competitions makes him a safer signing.

His price, the big handicap

The big problem for Barça is the price. Alexander Isak is valued at 150 million euros and his great performance this season could make his value rise even more. The Swedish forward has impressive numbers: 22 goals and 5 assists in 31 matches with Newcastle.

With such a high value and the interest of other major European clubs, the operation seems complicated for Barça. Despite their desire to sign him, the club's delicate financial situation makes it difficult to undertake an investment of that caliber without first generating income through significant sales.

Barça considers a TOP alternative

Therefore, Barça is already considering other more affordable options in the market. According to 'Fichajes.net', one of the names gaining strength on the blaugrana agenda is Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian from Leipzig is a younger and less established bet than Alexander Isak, which makes his price much lower.

At 21 years old, Sesko is having a great season with 17 goals and 5 assists in 34 matches. His physical power, scoring ability, and growth potential make him a very attractive option for Barça. Additionally, his signing would cost much less than Isak's, something crucial for a club that must continue to manage its economy cautiously.
