Barça's basketball team has just finished its season, but the club has been preparing for the 2025-2026 campaign for weeks. The blaugrana team officially announced its first departure this very morning. It's Justin Anderson, who arrived last summer and signed for just one season.
The small forward has had a season with ups and downs, but his attitude and grit have never been lacking. His averages were 7.1 points and 8.5 efficiency in EuroLeague and 8.3 points and 7.9 efficiency in ACB. Anderson will continue his career at Dubai Basketball, a team that will participate in the next edition of the EuroLeague.
Shengelia and Cale, first signings
According to several media outlets, Barça already has its first two signings secured for next season. The first is Tornike Shengelia, a player with a proven track record in EuroLeague. The Georgian power forward was already a desired target for the blaugrana in previous summers, but his signing never materialized.
With a past in ACB playing for Valencia Basket and Baskonia, Shengelia has had a great campaign with Virtus Bologna. Unlike his team's poor performance, the Georgian has performed at a high level, averaging 15.6 points and 17.5 efficiency in EuroLeague. In addition, one fact to keep in mind is that he counts as a homegrown player, a very important detail regarding ACB regulations.
The second signing is Myles Cale, who comes to fill the spot left vacant by Justin Anderson. He's an American small forward, known for his defensive skills, and has played in EuroCup with Italian side Trento. In this European competition, Cale averaged 10.7 points and 8.8 efficiency.
Brizuela and Parra's renewals on track
According to Diario SPORT's Marc del Río, Barça is very close to finalizing the renewals of Darío Brizuela and Joel Parra. Both arrived in the summer of 2023 at Palau, after a release clause was paid to Unicaja and Joventut, their former clubs, respectively. They have been two key pieces for Peñarroya this season.
In Parra's case, the renewal seems practically done, and Brizuela's is advanced due to the good relationship between both parties. Beyond their sporting importance, both players give the locker room an identity that's very important for competing for big achievements. The club made a bet in 2023 to nationalize the squad, and both Parra and Brizuela must be two standard-bearers of the blaugrana project.
