Danger, offer of over €50M to Barça for Gavi's friend: Flick is left without his favorite

The Villans' coach shows up at Barça's offices to assess a signing

Barcelona's sports management is on alert due to a possible sale that nobody expected. In the midst of planning Hansi Flick's new project, one of the players who seemed to have a prominent role might pack his bags. An important offer has arrived at the club's offices, and Joan Laporta has already opened the file to assess the operation.

It is a significant proposal of about 50 million euros ($50 million) that has cast doubt on the continuity of a footballer Flick didn't want to lose. However, in Barça's current economic context, any relevant income is scrutinized. Even more so if it is a sale that would generate net profits for the club's coffers.

The German coach's intention is to keep a competitive base with players already adapted to the club and the environment. But the message from the offices is clear: if an offer reaches the minimum figure set by the club, it will be considered regardless of the name as long as it is significant. The Catalan club aims to gather significant amounts to undertake signings necessary for competitiveness.

Ferran protagonist

The protagonist of this unexpected move is Ferran Torres, an international winger with Spain and a very versatile footballer who has alternated several starts with substitutions in the last season. Despite not always being indisputable, his performance in key moments has convinced Flick, who considers him a very valuable tactical resource.

Ferran Torres finished the season with good feelings, achieving the best figures of his entire professional football career. His commitment, work capacity, and goal-scoring instinct in decisive moments have earned him points. Ferran arrived for 55 million euros ($55 million) from Manchester City, and a sale now close to 50 million would allow balancing accounts and generating financial 'fair play'.

The Premier League moves for the one from Foios

The important offer comes from a Premier League club, specifically Aston Villa under Unai Emery, although sources point to strong interest for the next season. Ferran's entourage is already aware of the interest, but the player will not force his departure. He is comfortable in Barcelona and wants to stay, although he wouldn't close the door if the sports project and salary are attractive.

Laporta and Deco will analyze all scenarios  before giving the green light. The priority is to strengthen other areas of the field, but freeing up salary mass and obtaining liquidity could open the door to new additions. Moreover, if Ferran Torres were to leave, the club would bet on a young player from the youth team or a low-cost loan to cover his spot in the short term.

The coaching staff doesn't rule out convincing the player to stay, even if a formal offer arrives. But the message from the top is different: nobody is non-transferable. Everything depends on the price and the economic needs of a club that continues to look at the market with one eye on signings and the other on departures.
