Pep Guardiola wants to take him from Barça without paying a single €: Laporta is stunned

Manchester City's coach only wants him for free

Pep Guardiola is determined to rebuild Manchester City after a disappointing season, the first in many years without any titles. The coach believes that the team needs a deep overhaul to compete for everything again, and he has already identified several key areas to strengthen. Among them, interest has emerged in a Barça player, in a move that could shake up the summer transfer market.

The English club is in the midst of a restructuring phase after what has been considered internally a disastrous year. The lack of titles, combined with clear fatigue in several key players, has led Guardiola and his coaching staff to look for new signings.

New faces at the Etihad

At the start of this transfer window, Manchester City has already taken several firm steps to renew its squad. Important reinforcements have arrived, such as Ryan Cherki, who will bring creativity in the final third of the field. The arrival of Tijjani Reijnders from Milan has also been finalized, a dynamic midfielder who will provide energy and vision.

Another notable reinforcement is Rayan Aït-Nouri, a left-back with great potential who comes from Wolverhampton Wanderers. With these three additions, Guardiola is beginning to shape the new backbone of the team, but he knows there are still key positions to fill. Planning is ongoing and the club is preparing for more moves in the coming weeks.

The goal, a priority

One of the main focuses for the coaching staff is the goal. Although Ederson has been the undisputed starter in recent years, his performance has raised doubts at certain times. Occasional mistakes in important matches and some lapses in concentration have sparked debate within City.

For this reason, the club has started to look at options to bring in a new goalkeeper who can compete for the position or even take over from Ederson if necessary. In that search, Ter Stegen's name has emerged as a top possibility.

City wants Ter Stegen... for free

According to El Nacional, Manchester City would be interested in signing Marc-André ter Stegen. The German goalkeeper has to leave Barça and this could be an option

However, there is a major problem: City intends to sign him for free. The English side's intention would be to bring in Ter Stegen as a free agent or through a mutually agreed contract termination with Barça. Although they want to facilitate his departure, the club believes it can't let one of its most valuable assets leave without compensation.
