Pep Guardiola makes a huge offer for a Barça player: he goes crazy and puts €70M on the table

Manchester City's coach wants to launch an offensive for a blaugrana footballer

Pep Guardiola is facing a season with the firm intention of rebuilding Manchester City after a trophyless year. The team lost the competitive vigor that used to characterize it. In response, the coach has decided to start a deep renewal. With the goal of regaining dominance, the board has chosen to bring in fresh talent with potential.

In this regard, the English club has launched an offensive led by new signings who aim to return City to stardom. All with the ambition to create a new Manchester City capable of competing at the highest level.

New signings, but a gap at right back

This transfer window, City have already completed three signings: Ryan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Aït‑Nouri. All these deals have cost more than €150 million (over $162 million).

Despite these arrivals, Guardiola still has a major concern about the lack of a true right back. Since Kyle Walker's departure, the coach has improvised with players like Matheus Nunes converted to that position, which is far from sufficient.

Matheus Nunes doesn't convince

Matheus Nunes, City's midfielder, has had to adapt to right back out of necessity. Although he has replied with commitment, his lack of experience and natural ability in the position has been evident. Guardiola now wants to sign a specialist who can fill that role with guarantees from the start of the season.

City go for Koundé

According to El Nacional, Manchester City would be ready to start negotiations for Jules Koundé. The player, considered one of the best right wing-backs in the world, would fit perfectly into the profile Guardiola is looking for.

The English club would be willing to put forward an offer of €60 million (about $65 million) fixed plus €10 million (about $11 million) in add-ons to convince Barcelona. However, Koundé is not at all convinced about leaving. According to sources close to the blaugrana, Barça trust their player and have already advanced talks to renew his contract until 2030.

Joan Laporta and Deco have made it clear that Jules is untouchable and that he will not leave the club unless someone decides to pay his full release clause.
