Official: The Prodigal Son Returns Home, Flick Has Pleaded: 'Barça Needs You'

The blaugrana club is already working on a key addition for next summer

FC Barcelona has started to make moves to strengthen one of the team's most sensitive areas. With Alejandro Balde still recovering from his injury and without a reliable natural replacement, the left-back position has become a priority for the sports management.

Hansi Flick has given the green light to explore the market. The German coach believes there is a lack of depth on that flank.  The goal is clear: experience, immediate performance, and knowledge of the club.

A Complex but Well-Studied Operation

The profile being sought is not a promise. At Barça, they want someone who doesn't need adaptation. Someone who knows European soccer, has international experience, and, if possible, has already been in the blaugrana locker room.

In recent weeks, Deco has intensified contacts.  From Germany, they claim he has already inquired about a specific name. One that has been standing out for several seasons in top-level competitions.

The footballer in question not only shines in the Bundesliga. He also does so in Europe. His impact in the Champions League has been notable, both for his physical display and his offensive production.

At 29 years old, he is experiencing the best moment of his career. Despite having a contract in force until 2027, he would be willing to change scenery if a special opportunity arises.  According to close sources, that opportunity would be to return home.

Barça Values His Past... and His Present

The player knows the club perfectly, was trained at La Masia, and was one of the most promising talents of his generation. His early departure left a mark. But after years of growth, he has proven that he is more than ready to return.

He is not only to Deco's liking. He also has the backing of the coaching staff.  His signing is valued as an immediate solution and a safe bet in an area that has caused more problems than expected.

The operation wouldn't be easy. His current club considers him indispensable and won't let him leave for less than 35 million. A figure that Barça could only assume if they adjust their wage bill or manage to close an important sale.

Even so, the interest is firm. From the player's environment, they view the possible return favorably. The willingness is total if the conditions are met.

Experience, Goals, and Commitment

In addition to his defensive performance, his contribution in attack is differential. He adds goals, assists, and has a set-piece precision that few full-backs can match. This versatility makes him a highly desired piece.

Barça believes he could coexist with Balde without hindering him.  He would be a complementary profile, capable of taking the lead when the young academy player isn't at 100%.

The name Deco has marked in red is Alejandro Grimaldo. Shining at Bayer Leverkusen, with Champions League experience and Barça DNA. His return would be one of the most symbolic and strategic moves of the summer.

Everything will depend on the club's financial margin and the player's willingness.  But if the conditions are met, Grimaldo could return to Camp Nou to complete the cycle that should never have closed so soon.
