Joan Laporta has closed one of the most important moves of the market. FC Barcelona and Nico Williams have reached a total agreement for his incorporation starting in July. After months of meetings and an interest that dates back to last summer, everything is settled.
The Navarrese player has communicated to his circle that his decision is made. His will is clear: he wants to play at Camp Nou and be a protagonist in Hansi Flick's new Barça. The club, meanwhile, has prioritized this signing over any other name.

Flick Gives Green Light: Nico Will Be Key in His New System
The German coach has been working with Deco for weeks on an offensive restructuring. With the possible departure of some striker, Nico Williams has been marked as a key signing. Flick wants a destabilizing, explosive, and versatile winger, capable of making a difference in big matches.
Raphinha has performed at a great level this season, but the German coach is looking for more speed and depth on the left wing. Ferran Torres has fulfilled his role as a substitute, but he is not considered a long-term starter. Ansu Fati and Pau Víctor are also not in the future plans.
That's why the coaching staff has insisted that Nico is the missing profile. A vertical player, with imbalance, who can create superiorities on his own.

The Agreement with the Player Is Already Closed
The operation has been worked on for months by Deco and his closest circle. Nico has been clear: his dream is to play for Barça and he is ready to make the leap. The salary agreement is already settled, and Barça is willing to pay his release clause.
It is a figure around 58 million euros, manageable within the club's new financial plan. Barça has prioritized this incorporation and frozen other negotiations like those of Rafael Leão or Rashford. Nico is the bet.
Additionally, the winger has rejected proposals from the Premier League, including from Chelsea and Arsenal. His goal was clear: to wait for Barça. And he already has everything agreed.

Only 4 Conditions Left for It to Be Official
Despite the agreement being closed, Nico Williams has requested three conditions to officially sign his contract. All three have been well received by the club and work is already underway to fulfill them as soon as possible.
The first is purely economic: to maintain his current salary, which is around 12 million gross annually. Barça accepts it because they see it as an investment for the present and future.

The second is for Barça to pay his clause directly to Athletic, without negotiating with the Basque club. Nico wants a clean exit, without tensions, and Laporta also prefers it that way.
The third is the most striking: Nico wants to arrive with a personal physical trainer included in the agreement. He considers it key to arrive in full form at Camp Nou and quickly adapt to Barça's competitive rhythm. This request has been accepted and will be included in the final contract.

Nico Williams Will Be a Culé This Summer
The agreement is total, Barça and Nico Williams already have the entire contractual framework closed. Only the three agreed points need to be fulfilled to make the official announcement. The player's circle has already given the green light and expects the operation to be completed in July.
Flick has requested it, Deco has managed it, and Laporta has closed it. Barça will have in Nico Williams one of the most powerful wings in Europe alongside Lamine Yamal. The fans can get excited: the star signing is secured.
Camp Nou is ready to welcome one of the most promising wingers in Europe. And Nico, finally, will fulfill his desire: to wear Barça's jersey.
