Neither Kubo nor Zubimendi, Barça Takes Real's Star: Flick Convinced Him

Barça is willing to do anything to acquire Real Sociedad's breakout player.

For some time now, Martín Zubimendi has been one of the names most frequently mentioned on FC Barcelona's agenda. His ability to play as a defensive pivot and his playing style fit perfectly with the club's philosophy. However, Barça's delicate financial situation has made his transfer impossible in recent years.

Now, with the blaugrana team starting to stabilize economically, the club can look at the market with more ambition. In this regard, Hansi Flick has set his sights on Real Sociedad.

But not precisely on Zubimendi or Take Kubo, two of the great stars of Imanol Alguacil's team. The German coach has requested another of the revelations of the Donostiarra team.

A New Name on Barça's Agenda

Zubimendi has been in the orbit of several European teams for some time. Liverpool tried to sign him last summer, but the midfielder decided to stay in San Sebastián. Publicly stating that Real Sociedad was the best place for him.

Meanwhile, Takefusa Kubo has also been linked with Barça in the past. However, with Lamine Yamal as an undisputed starter, his signing doesn't make much sense at this time. The club prefers to bet on the growth of the young Spaniard, who has become a key piece in Flick's scheme.

In this situation, the German coach has set his eyes on another Real Sociedad player. A name that wasn't in the initial plans but has been gaining strength over the months.

Flick Wants to Strengthen the Right Back

The option that is making more sense for Flick is Jon Aramburu, the young right back of Real Sociedad. After his outstanding performances in the reserve team, he has managed to establish himself in the first team, becoming a key player in Imanol Alguacil's plans.

The Venezuelan player has proven to be fast, solid defensively, and with good ball distribution. Qualities that fit perfectly in Barça's playing style. His ability to adapt to different tactical schemes has caught the attention of several European clubs, and Barça is among the most interested.

The right back has been a problematic position in recent years for Barça. With Jules Koundé regularly playing that role, the squad needs a reliable alternative.

Although Héctor Fort has had some opportunities, Flick doesn't fully trust him.  So Aramburu would be an interesting option to strengthen the position.

Will His Arrival at Camp Nou Be Possible?

Additionally, his youth and potential make him a long-term investment, something that aligns with the club's philosophy. However, Barça won't have it easy. His market value has grown rapidly and, moreover, he has just renewed his contract with Real Sociedad, which could complicate his signing.

Real Sociedad doesn't want to part with Jon Aramburu easily. His release clause is 50 million euros, a figure that Barça can't pay at this moment. However, the blaugrana club will seek alternative formulas, such as including a player in the operation or negotiating a transfer in installments.

Hansi Flick has made it clear that he needs a right back with potential and Aramburu fits his profile. Now, everything will depend on Barça's ability to close the deal before his value continues to rise.
