Marcus Rashford won't be the only one, Fabrizio confirms it: 'Barça will sign the best'

Deco doesn't consider the squad finalized after the arrival of the English player

Barça has finalized the arrival of Marcus Rashford as its new star signing for the left wing. The English forward from Manchester United arrives at Barça after weeks of speculation and negotiations with several candidates to strengthen the attack. In the end, the club has chosen the English international, thus ruling out other names that were strongly considered, such as Luis Díaz.

Additionally, Nico Williams, who had been on Barça's radar for months, decided to renew his contract with Athletic Club and stay in Bilbao. Meanwhile, the deal for Luis Díaz became impossible due to Liverpool's high financial demands, as they were asking for nearly €100 million. With both options closed, Barça opted for a viable solution like Rashford, a player with experience, versatility, and a strong desire to relaunch his career.

A loan that fits the economic plan

One of the key reasons why Barça has chosen Marcus Rashford has been the type of deal. The forward arrives on loan for one season, in a formula that allows the club to strengthen without a transfer fee. There is no obligation to buy, although there is an option that Barça may activate if the player's performance is the desired one.

Rashford's loan represents a significant financial relief. While Luis Díaz moved out of reach due to his cost and Nico Williams decided to stay at San Mamés, Barça found in Rashford an international-level alternative with a hunger to prove himself. His arrival is a low-risk bet with a potentially high return.

The market is still open for Barça

According to El Nacional, the club doesn't consider its squad closed. With Rashford's arrival already confirmed, the sporting management is now working on new signings, this time focused on the full-back positions. The coaching staff believe that both Alejandro Balde and Jules Koundé need real competition.

With a demanding schedule and the Champions League as one of the main objectives, Flick wants a defense with more rotation and guarantees.

Dumfries and Grimaldo, the possible targets

Two prominent names appear on the list of candidates. For the right-back position, the favorite is Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan. His signing would provide a very useful offensive profile to complement Koundé.

On the left side, the target is Alejandro Grimaldo, who has just completed an excellent season with Bayer Leverkusen. A Barça academy graduate, Grimaldo knows the club and would arrive to compete directly with Balde. His tactical maturity and set-piece precision make him a very attractive option.
