Confirmed, Amorim takes Flick's favorite from Barça: United will pay a lot

In Barça's sports management, they know they can gain a significant advantage with this sale.

The winter transfer market is getting closer to closing, and in Barça's offices, uncertainty remains about whether any deals will be finalized.  At the culé club, they know that any operation could alleviate the economic situation for the future, considering that Hansi Flick's squad needs to undergo some important adjustments. Certainly, the winter transfer market hasn't been entirely positive for the Catalan club.

While it's true that Barça was able to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor,  the squad hasn't undergone any changes in this recent summer window. In fact, Deco and company missed a market opportunity like Marcus Rashford due to the lack of departures in the team. With this in mind, at FC Barcelona, they don't want to be left without room for maneuver for the summer transfer market and, to avoid this, Deco is close to finalizing a departure.

Definitive Sale

According to the latest information circulating around the Catalan club, Deco has set to work to ensure this player leaves the team as soon as possible. Hansi Flick has already given the green light, considering that he is out of his plans due to his lack of continuity. This is Andreas Christensen, who hasn't debuted this season due to physical problems that have constantly kept him off the field.

The Danish center-back had received medical clearance in mid-January regarding the last injury he suffered at the start of the campaign. However, the club recently announced that he got injured again, and there is already consensus at Barça: his departure is an opportunity to generate income and free up salary mass. The higher-ups of the institution have lost patience and believe that Christensen occupies a spot in the squad that could be used to strengthen with other important stars.

No Turning Back

Not being available,  Flick hasn't considered Christensen in the first part of the season, and nothing seems to indicate that it will be different in this second part. In fact, with the departures of Eric García and Ronald Araújo ruled out, the Dane is the main candidate to leave the club. Being relegated to a secondary role, and considering the competition in the defensive line, it's difficult for Christensen to impose himself over Pau Cubarsí, Íñigo Martínez, Ronald Araújo, or Eric García.

He now has the door open to find a new destination, and Deco aims to get at least 15 million euros for his transfer. The Premier League is shaping up to be his new home, and several clubs have shown interest in acquiring the defender's services. Chelsea, Tottenham, or Newcastle have recently explored his situation, and Barça trusts that the bidding will bring significant money.
