Last day of the transfer window and there are moves: Fermín isn't leaving alone, Laporta is already kicking him out

The blaugrana side faces the final hours of summer with pending matters

Barça faces the last day of the transfer window with most of the work already done. The sporting management has achieved the main goals for this summer: strengthening the goalkeeping position and adding options in attack. Joan García, who came from Espanyol, has been the most expensive signing, for 25 million, while Marcus Rashford has arrived on loan from Manchester United.

With these additions, Hansi Flick has a goalkeeper with potential and a proven elite forward. The feeling is that, in terms of arrivals, Barça has delivered on what was promised.

Departures still to be solved

However, not everything is finalized in the offices. Although the signings are completed, there are still pending moves regarding departures. The club needs to reduce its wage bill and squad size, and for that it has identified two specific players: Oriol Romeu and Héctor Fort.

In addition, the question of whether Fermín López could leave for Chelsea in a multi-million deal remains open. Barça knows these operations are important, not only to balance the books, but also to free up space for future registrations. In particular, the possible departure of Fermín would be a sporting blow, but financially it could mean a key cash inflow.

Oriol Romeu, case closed

According to Diario Sport, Barça has already solved the Oriol Romeu case. The Catalan midfielder was not in Flick's plans and the board has chosen to terminate his contract. The idea is for Romeu to look for a new destination where he can have a leading role, while the club reduces its wage bill and offloads a player with little influence.

The decision was practically a given since the start of preseason, when Flick made it clear he was not counting on him. With his departure confirmed, Barça has taken care of one of the most urgent matters to solve in this final stretch of the window.

The future of Héctor Fort and Fermín

With Romeu gone, the focus now shifts to Héctor Fort and Fermín López. The former, a right back from the academy, has few chances for minutes with Koundé and Eric García in that position. The club recommends a departure, preferably as a loan, although it is still undecided where he will play this season.

As for Fermín, the big question is whether he will accept Chelsea's offer or not. The English side have put a multi-million figure on the table that tempts Barça, but the player has not yet made a final decision. The outcome will be known in the coming hours.
