Neither Flick, nor Laporta, nor anyone at Barça wants him: sold to Chelsea for €35M, goodbye

The Blues are getting closer to one of Barcelona's gems and intend to sign him permanently for their team

In the midst of the transfer window, Barcelona continues to make important decisions regarding the transfer market. The blaugrana club, presided over by Joan Laporta, is required to balance its accounts and comply with Financial Fair Play. In this context, some key members of the locker room have become assets that can be cashed in.

One of the names back on the table is Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan, despite being one of the team's leaders, is not untouchable. According to information circulating from within the club, Laporta would be willing to accept an offer reaching €35 million. That would be the amount to end the Uruguayan's time at Camp Nou.

The club's position is clear: it is not actively seeking his departure, but if a convincing proposal arrives, it will be considered. Barcelona's priority is to generate income without weakening the squad. For this reason, Araujo appears as an intermediate option. His departure would provide financial relief and allow the club to strengthen other more urgent positions.

Hansi Flick considers his departure

On the sporting side, the defender has had a season marked by inconsistency. His level has been below the desired standard and his prominence has diminished at key moments. In addition, Hansi Flick's arrival opens a new chapter on the bench, in which no one has a guaranteed spot. The German coach prefers center-backs who are good at playing the ball out from the back, which is not exactly the Uruguayan's strong suit.

Meanwhile, the defender has also attracted interest from several major clubs. Bayern Munich already tried to sign him months ago, and United as well. There have even been inquiries from Italy. All these moves suggest that a sale for €35 million would not be complicated, especially if it is accelerated before the transfer window closes.

35 million is the sale

The Uruguayan player's camp is not ruling out a departure,  although Araujo has always shown his commitment to Barcelona, he doesn't want to find himself in an uncomfortable situation either. If the club doesn't convey total trust, he is willing to consider other options. His contract remains in force, but his future is no longer tied to the Catalan capital.

At Camp Nou, they value his character, leadership, and commitment positively. But they are also aware that he is one of the few players who can bring in a significant sum. The summer promises to be eventful at Can Barça. While some dream of new signings, the reality is that departures will set the course.

Ronald Araujo is no longer untouchable. For €35 million, Joan Laporta is willing to give the green light to his farewell. It depends on the offers that arrive, although the blaugrana are truly in need of Financial Fair Play.
