The need to strengthen in a specific position is growing for Barcelona.

Mid-season, at Barça a concern is emerging about an issue that was festering last year: Robert Lewandowski's performance. The Polish forward, who started the season with an unbelievable goal streak, has seen his level drop in recent matches. Although he remains a key piece in Barça's attack, his effectiveness has decreased, and he hasn't been able to keep up with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

On several occasions, Robert Lewandowski has seemed out of sync with the team's collective play, which has caused Barça to be less fluid in attack. This drop in performance has led the club's sports management to consider the future of the Polish forward, who, at 36 years old, is beginning to show signs of physical wear. While he remains a natural goal scorer, Barça knows it will need to find an alternative in the coming years to maintain the team's offensive level.

Deco Remains Firm in His Priorities

With Lewandowski already in the final stage of his career, Barça plans for the long term and finding a replacement is the most important mission for the summer. In this regard, Deco and Laporta have always focused their efforts on a clear target for the summer market: signing Erling Haaland.

However, after his recent renewal with Manchester City until 2034, this dream has faded. Therefore, Deco knows he must start planning with other names in mind.

Barça's First Option Plays in the Premier League

In light of this, the eyes of the blaugrana club have turned to other big names, with Alexander Isak, Newcastle's forward, being one of the favorites to strengthen the attack. Signing Isak would be an ambitious operation, but Barça is willing to fight for one of the most decisive goal scorers in the Premier League.

However, Newcastle United has shown a firm stance regarding Isak's stay, so Barcelona will have to make a considerable effort if they want to sign him. His price could be around 100 million, making it a significant investment, but one that could be key for the team's future.

The Great Alternative to Alexander Isak

If the operation for Alexander Isak doesn't go through, Barça is also considering Viktor Gyökeres, Sporting Lisbon's forward. The Swede has impressed in the Portuguese league and the Champions League with his goal-scoring ability and physical play, making him an enticing alternative.

Like Isak, Gyökeres has a high price that could be around 100 million euros, putting him at the same investment level as signing Isak. Both are complex operations, so Barça will have to focus solely on this position and secure sales to be able to undertake the signing of one of the two players.
