A key February for the Blaugranas

Hansi Flick's team is already starting to prepare for one of the most crucial months of the season, with everything yet to be decided

Flick's Barça has started February with a vital victory for their aspirations toward the end of the season in La Liga. A 1-0 victory against Alavés allows the blaugranas to get closer to Real Madrid at the top of the championship. The team is currently 4 points behind the leaders, with a direct clash between Atlético and Real Madrid next weekend that could benefit Flick's side.

Two competitions at stake

The squad is aware that La Liga is once again favorable for them to compete until the end of the season. February will be key to knowing if Flick's team is capable of competing for the trophy with Madrid and Atlético de Madrid. To do so, they will have to face three matches, two of which will be away, visiting Sánchez Pizjuán and Gran Canaria Stadium.

In Montjuïc, Barça will only have to play one match, which will be against Rayo Vallecano, a team that has always been challenging. Three vital tests that Flick's side must win to get closer to the top.

In February, the Copa del Rey will also come into play again, where Barça will face Valencia at Mestalla. These are exciting quarterfinals that could allow Flick's Barça to advance or not and continue aspiring to that desired treble.

In just 4 matches, Flick's team will know if they will continue to aspire to a possible treble, or otherwise be left with one or two fewer competitions in play. The latter would be a blow for the blaugranas, who are building a project to aspire to all competitions, and if possible, win them.

For now, they are performing with high marks, reaching a level of play rarely seen in a challenging time for the club. To win all the titles, however, they will need more than quality and good play. The factor of luck will have to be present at some point in the season.

We will see if the complete composition of the team is capable of achieving and maintaining consistency to win as many titles as possible.
