Hansi Flick loses patience, he'll be a substitute at Barça: Rashford moves ahead

The coach hasn't seen the level he desired in some players

Barça's start to the season has been marked by the absence of Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker suffered an injury during preseason that kept him from being available for the first three LaLiga matchdays. Faced with that situation, Hansi Flick chose Ferran Torres as the starting center forward.

The Valencian replied well in the first two matches, scoring a goal in each of them and showing that he could take on the responsibility. However, his performance dropped in the last match, where he couldn't keep the same effectiveness or clarity in his attacking movements.

A draw that raises doubts

The setback came in the match against Rayo Vallecano, in which Barça could only draw 1-1 in Vallecas. Beyond the result, what concerned the coaching staff was Ferran's limited contribution. During the match, he was disconnected, failing to create danger or appear in key plays.

That poor performance sparked a debate within the club about whether Ferran is the best option to keep occupying the number 9 position. The team needs consistency and decisiveness in attack, and the match in Vallecas left the impression that the Valencian still hasn't managed to establish himself as a reference point.

The return of Lewandowski

In this regard, attention now turns to Robert Lewandowski. The Pole is reportedly recovered from his injury and could return to the field in the upcoming league fixtures. His return would be a huge relief for Flick, who would once again have his top scorer and a world-class striker capable of making a difference at any moment.

His presence on the field inspires confidence in his teammates and respect from opponents. The Pole faces the challenge of regaining match fitness as soon as possible and leading the blaugrana attack again.

Rashford, another option in attack

However, Ferran Torres isn't the only one who could lose prominence. Marcus Rashford, on loan this summer from Manchester United, also emerges as a real alternative to lead the attack. His ability to move between the lines, his speed, and his finishing make him an option for Flick, especially in matches where depth is needed.

With Lewandowski's recovery and Rashford's arrival, competition up front will be at its highest. Ferran will have to show that he can keep a high level if he wants to continue playing a key role. For Flick, the good news is that he now has several alternatives to choose from, which will allow him to rotate.
