Flick Can't Believe It: Barça's Spoiled Child Negotiates with Real Madrid, Scandal

The blaugrana team fears that one of the best players on the continent will end up with the eternal rival

In recent transfer markets, Real Madrid has established itself as the great agitator of European soccer. It hasn't needed to make many signings, but when it has made a move, it has done so in a big way. Its strategy has been clear: aim high and secure the most promising young talent on the continent like Jude Bellingham or Eduardo Camavinga.

While other clubs are testing the market in search of opportunities, the white team has chosen to sign only big stars.

Real Madrid Shows Its Economic Power

None of this would be possible without a solid economic muscle. Real Madrid has shown to have a financial capacity superior to most clubs, leaving aside clubs like PSG or City. Last summer, it made it clear again by closing the signing of Kylian Mbappé, one of the most desired moves in recent years.

Although he arrived for free, his contract includes an astronomical salary that few teams could afford. This type of operation confirms that the white club not only has great attraction capacity but also the necessary resources to compete with any European giant in economic terms.

One of the Best Young Players in Europe Could End Up at Real Madrid

In this line, according to 'El Nacional', Real Madrid already has on its radar who many consider the next great phenomenon of European soccer, who could be Florian Wirtz. The Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder is having a sensational season, being key in Xabi Alonso's team. His vision of the game, imbalance, and maturity despite his youth make him a desired piece by all the greats of Europe.

Madrid, as it did with Bellingham, wants to get ahead of the rest and secure his signing before his price skyrockets further. Although Wirtz has a contract until 2027, the white interest is serious and could translate into an offer next summer or in 2026. Florentino sees in him the natural heir to Luka Modric and is willing to make a significant effort to incorporate him.

He's One of Barça's Dreams

At Barça, Florian Wirtz has long been on the wish list, but as a difficult dream to reach. The sports management follows him, and everyone agrees on his enormous potential. However, the club's economic context forces prioritizing more urgent positions like right-back or left-wing, where Nico Williams is the main target.

Moreover, the price being considered for Wirtz, about 150M, is completely out of Barça's reach at this moment. As tempting as his signing may be, the club can't afford such an investment in a player who is not a priority for the project.
