An Top-Tier from Barça Accepts Chelsea's 100M Offer and Laporta Explodes: 'Traitor'

The player has decided to leave Barcelona and has caused tension in the management

FC Barcelona is facing one of the most demanding seasons in recent years. With Hansi Flick on top, the team has managed to stay in the fight for all titles, although it hasn't been an easy path. Injuries, the need to balance the books and the search for new signings have marked the sports planning in recent months.

Despite the challenges, the club has managed to adjust its economy and now operates under the 1:1 rule. This means it can make additions without the need to sell players  mandatorily. However, the summer market is shaping up to be hectic, with several European clubs ready to tempt some of Barça's key pieces.

A Team in Reconstruction

The sports management, led by Deco, is working on several fronts.  The midfield and attack are priority areas, but before making definitive decisions, the club must ensure the continuity of its most important players.

In this context, offers have been received for several footballers, but Barça has made it clear that it isn't willing to part with essential pieces. Meanwhile, the most powerful clubs in Europe remain on the prowl, ready to make offers to try to convince both the club and the players.

An Unexpected Move Shakes the Market

In recent hours, news has been revealed that has surprised the Barça fans.  Chelsea is willing to shell out 100 million euros for one of Barça's key pieces.

The footballer in question has a contract until 2027, and the board's plan is to renew it until 2030. However, his great performance this season has caught the attention of several clubs. That would be willing to pay a much higher sum than what Barça initially paid for him.

Chelsea already attempted to sign him last season without success, but now it is determined to strike back. They are putting an astronomical figure forward to convince both the player and the Barça board.

Barça Has No Intention to Sell

Despite the juicy offer Chelsea is preparing, Barça is not considering the departure of Jules Koundé.

The French defender has established himself as one of the best in his position across Europe. Although his contract expires in 2027, the idea is to extend his link until 2030, improving his salary conditions and maintaining his release clause, set at one billion euros.

For the Barça board, Koundé is non-transferable, and his role within the team has become indispensable. Although in his early days at the club he had doubts about his role as a right-back, his performance has been exceptional. He ended up accepting the position with professionalism.

Beyond the 100-million-euro offer, Koundé himself doesn't seem interested in changing scenery either. The Frenchman is fully adapted to Barça, feels important within the team, and doesn't see Chelsea as an attractive destination.

Moreover, the sporting situation of the English club, which is still in full reconstruction and without guaranteeing to be present in the next Champions League, isn't an incentive for him either.

Barça and Koundé share the same stance: to reject any transfer attempt and move forward with his renewal in the coming months.

Chelsea may insist with its multi-million-dollar offer, but everything points to the Frenchman continuing to defend the Barça jersey for many more years.
