Amazing, he's leaving Barça for Bayern Munich: second betrayal of the year, Raphinha's fault

Barça's sporting director can't believe the final blow coming from Germany

The latest moves in the market have left Deco completely stunned. Barcelona sporting director had been weaving his web for weeks to secure the winger desired by Flick. But in just 48 hours, he has seen his entire plan completely fall apart.

Deco and Flick, hit by Nico's snub

Since his arrival on the bench, Hansi Flick made it clear that he wanted to strengthen the wings. Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are key pieces, but they can't handle all the offensive demands. That's why the priority was to bring in a top-level striker with immediate impact.

The favorite from the start was Nico Williams. Talks progressed quickly, the player was open to the move, and the club believed it was a matter of days. But his camp surprised everyone by closing a contract extension with Athletic until 2035.

That move left Deco deeply affected. He had bet heavily on Nico and delayed other negotiations to wait for his decision. His final refusal threw Barça off and forced them to reactivate alternative plans with very little time to respond.

After Williams's rejection, Deco turned his attention back to a familiar face. Luis Díaz has always been one of his favorites for his profile, competitive character, and immediate fit in the system. The Colombian winger is also highly regarded by Flick, who had approved the move.

The player, meanwhile, was waiting for a final call from Barça. Aware of the interest, he was willing to accept a reasonable salary and showed himself ready to force his exit from Liverpool. Everything seemed set for the deal to be unlocked in July.

But while financial formulas were being considered in Barcelona, another European giant was moving quietly. With more determination, no hesitation, and an offer that couldn't be refused by any party, the deal was completely closed in just 72 hours.

Deco misses out on his other major target

The news has hit like a bucket of cold water in Camp Nou offices. Deco not only loses the winger he had chosen as plan B, but also the only one he considered good enough after the collapse of the Nico deal. The worst part is that the player has signed for a direct rival club at the top of European soccer.

The deal has been closed at around €70 million (70 millones), an affordable figure for a team that has dominated its league and wants more firepower on the wing. In addition, Luis Díaz's salary will exceed €11 million gross per season (11 millones), with performance and title-related bonuses. It's a clear commitment from his new team.

Barça, meanwhile, is left without its second major target of the summer. In just one week, Nico Williams has renewed in Bilbao and Luis Díaz has been sold to Bayern Munich, which has acted quickly and decisively. Deco, shaken, is now searching for a miracle in the market so as not to leave Flick without reinforcements on the wings.
