Confirmed, Guardiola Looks to Argentina to Strengthen City: Haaland Leaves and Arrives...

The Catalan coach has set his sights on an Argentine star to replace the Norwegian forward

The future of Erling Haaland at Manchester City isn't assured. The possibility of the Norwegian forward leaving the club has caused concern among the management, especially because he is closely followed by teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona. Amid this uncertainty,Pep Guardiola is already evaluating alternatives to not lose offensive power in case of an unexpected departure.

The Catalan coach considers that the ideal profile for his playing system is a forward with mobility, sacrifice, and scoring ability. Therefore,City has set its sights on a South American footballer who has excelled in recent years in European soccer. It would be a star who, moreover, could become the key piece to maintain the attack's effectiveness.

Guardiola's Choice

The name that has gained strength in Manchester City's offices is Lautaro Martínez. The Argentine forward has been one of the figures of Inter Milan, a club with which he has conquered Serie A and played in the Champions League final. His leadership and ability to adapt to different offensive schemes make him an ideal candidate to take Haaland's place if he decides to move to Spain.

Although there isn't an official offer yet,Guardiola believes that Lautaro would fit perfectly at City. The idea of having a world champion excites the coach, who sees in him an opportunity to strengthen the attack without losing forcefulness. Everything will depend on what happens with Haaland next transfer market.

A Signing That Won't Be Easy

The negotiation with Inter Milan won't be easy.Although his release clause isn't public, it's estimated that the Italian club would demand at least 100M euros to let him go. Moreover, the competition for his signing could make the price increase even more.

However,Manchester City has shown that they have no problem investing large amounts for the players they really want. If Haaland's departure materializes, it wouldn't be surprising if the English accelerate negotiations for Lautaro and make a significant economic effort to add him to their squad as soon as possible.
